ChallengeU Community School…where ALL students B.E.L.O.N.G.!

Why B.E.L.O.N.G?

We have PBIS values at our school that students are expected to follow and can be rewarded in order to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.  There are 3 core statements in order to understand our PBIS values.

PBIS
ChallengeU students…

Believe in themselves through Empowerment

Our students' success starts with their belief in what they can accomplish as an individual. As a school it is our commitment to support our students- we will guide them, be there for them and give them the tools necessary but even if we provide these tools, nothing will happen unless a student truly believes they can achieve it.

Lead and take Ownership

There are no excuses for failure, just accountability to pick ones’ self up and try again. Students here are expected to be accountable for their actions. If they are doing the work required, logging in and working to meet their attendance requirements, they will succeed and graduate. Your student must show up every day and do what is required in order to take ownership for their academic and personal success and we will be there to help them every step of the way.

Navigate their future and will Grow through resiliency

Resiliency is the ability to adapt during challenging times. It is those roadblocks in life that feel like they get in the way but together we can work around them and get that high school diploma, no matter what your student is going through. Students at ChallengeU will learn how to adapt, grow and navigate the roadblocks they may be facing right now so that they can graduate and say, “I DID IT.”

Rewards Incentive

Current PBIS rewards at ChallengeU If your student meets the minimum 25 hour requirement for attendance every week for the month, they will be entered into a raffle where they could win an Amazon gift card. There is no limit- they can qualify every month of the school year! Please encourage your student to log in daily and work online for 2 and a half hours minimum. Each day they need to have a total of 5 hours of attendance. The other 2 and a half hours for the day can be manually logged in their OFFLINE time course for anything academic they do outside of their online schoolwork.

Why PBIS values? PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports and builds a stronger school community and student’s sense of self. This approach is promoted and supported by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. For more information and how you can support these values at home, please visit PBIS for families here.
